We have already seen some of the most anticipated launches of this year go on sale quite recently. And now, the two biggest smartphone launches are pending from Apple and Google – the biggest competitors in the premium smartphone market. While the Apple iPhone 14 series is speculated to launch in September this year, the latest Google Pixel 7 series will supposedly debut in October 2022. But months ahead of the expected launch, a fresh leak has revealed the release date and pre-order details of the Pixel 7 with some key details of the upcoming Google smartphone.

The new leak comes courtesy of leaker Jon Prosser who dropped some significant hints about the Pixel 7 event. Here’s what the new Google Pixel 7 leak reveals about the upcoming launch event.

Google Pixel 7 Leak Details

Earlier this year, the web search giant confirmed the existence of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones at the Google I/O developer conference. While the company didn’t reveal the launch details, it was speculated the phones would launch in October. Now, the leak has revealed that the most anticipated flagship phone will go on sale on October 13. The cited source also claims that the device will be up for pre-order on October 6.

Pixel 7 Series Specifications

The latest Google Pixel smartphone series, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will no doubt ship with the latest stock Android 13 OS out of the box. The handset will be powered by the next-gen Google Tensor chipset. While there is not much known about the specs of the upcoming Pixel 7 devices, a recent leak however suggested that this year’s Pro model will feature a brighter display compared to last year’s model.

Reportedly, the Pixel 7 Pro will sport a bigger display with support for 1,000 nits of brightness, up from 800 nits in the previous model. The devices are still not expected to come with an LTPO display and HDR 10+ support. However, the Pro model could come with a 120Hz refresh rate and operate at QHD+ resolution.

In terms of design, there is no such detail, and Google isn’t expected to make big changes either. But for photography, several reports suggest that the Pixel 7 series will use an 11-megapixel Samsung 3J1 sensor at the front. This is quite an amazing sensor for taking portrait shots – thanks to its dual-pixel autofocus (DPAF) capabilities. Further, the upcoming flagship phones will reportedly feature Samsung’s GN1 sensor and a Sony IMX381 ultra-wide-angle camera on the rear. While there are not many details available, the Pixel 7 series will likely feature an in-display sensor for biometric authentication.

Google Pixel 7 Availability in India

The previous generation phones, namely the Pixel 4, Pixel 5, and Pixel 6 series, didn’t make it to India. And there is no confirmation from Google on whether the new Pixel 7 devices will launch in India or not. There are very few hopes that the new premium phones will make it to India. But, if Google changes its decision this year, it will be a very good chance for Pixel fans in India to own their favorite device from Google. However, we will only get to know the exact details on this in October.
